Jonathan Green is a Special Advisor at Europe Economics. He is a regulatory economist with a substantial track record in developing policy and strategy at a senior level in the Government and the private sector. He has been closely involved for much of his career in the application of competition policy and the development of utility regulation.
His earlier career was in the public sector where he held senior posts in the Department of Trade and Industry, leading on electricity and gas sector policies; and in the (then) Monopolies and Mergers Commission as Senior Economic Adviser was involved in over 50 different cases. Since joining Europe Economics in 2005 he has directed a wide range of projects evaluating the impact of government and regulatory policies. He has carried out a number of ex post and ex ante impact assessments for the European Commission and the UK government.
